I know that we want to get
I know that we want to get the "sting" out of words- but I was just a bit confused on how we can really do that.
You had suggested an excersize with taking words that would normally hurt you: "boring," "smelly," "whore." and having someone say them to you.
I just thought the response should be less of "I am boring" and more of "Boring doesn't hurt me" or something more positive? I realize your point in accepting a thought or label you normally avoid- but I think it could be done either way.
I really loved the podcast though- I think it would be very effective for us to develop an immunity to words that hurt us, both sexually and otherwise.
I'm planning on purchasing the book you recommended, including the book by Gina Ogden.
