What parts of your sexual story and intimate past no longer serve you? What can you do to create more embodied pleasure, to experience better sex, and deepen your intimate connection? I delve into these female sexual empowerment topics with THE YOU-EST YOU podcast host, Julie Reisler!

Here are some of the takeaways from our talk that Julie included in her Better Sex show notes:

  • A great place to start with your own sensual and sexual journey, especially if it’s not where you’d like it to be, is by journaling about the earliest messages you received about what it meant to be a woman (or man), to be sexual, what your religion or family had to say about it, and anything you can remember that might have been a negative connotation.

  • Rewrite your sexual story by looking at how you want to feel and experience connection, intimacy, and sex.

  • If you struggle with being intimate with your partner for any number of reasons, create ‘Happy Naked Fun Time’ for 45 – 60 min, without kids or other distractions, where you are naked (or almost naked) and there’s time to cuddle, connect and have fun without the pressure of sex. Start with at least once/week and reconnect to your partner in a space without pressure to perform or have a sexual outcome.

  • Embodied pleasure starts with self-compassion and mindfulness. To fully enjoy any connection or sensual moment, you must be present. If you find yourself distracted or worried about a ‘to-do’ list, focus on the moment and your 5 senses.
