We're lucky in San Diego to have Moxie Theatre, a theatre company dedicated to producing plays by female playwrights. They choose pieces that are timely, hard-hitting, and thought-provoking, and bring in voices that represent a breadth of valuable perspectives.
On Thursday, February 1, at 7pm, I'll be joining forces with Moxie Theatre for their new play called Bliss. I've heard great things from rehearsals! This is a synopsis of Bliss: "Housewives are dutiful. Husbands are brawny. It’s 1960 and Emily Post’s guide to etiquette is keeping America “great.” But in a delicious turn of events, a stranger materializes who might end life as the citizens of North Orange know it. This audacious Joint World Premiere reimagines the tragic heroines of Greek Mythology as pill-popping housewives in a cautionary tale with deadly consequences."
Come as my guest and receive $5 off your ticket with the code "breakthecycle." Additionally -- and I'm really excited about this -- I'll be joining the playwright, Jami Brandli, and Moxie's Executive Artistic Director, Jennifer Eve Thorn, in a post-show panel discussion about challenging the status quo.
Let me know if you'll be attending Bliss at Moxie Theatre!
